Traditional Korean Martial Arts in Eastbourne
The Martial Arts Centre in Eastbourne is dedicated to teaching United Mirae Kuk Sool, a comprehensive traditional Korean martial arts system. Since our establishment in 1992, we have focused on developing confidence, self-control, self-defence skills, and overall fitness in our students. We welcome individuals from age 3 to adults of all fitness levels and capabilities. Our classes offer a fun, engaging, and supportive environment for martial arts training. What do we teach?
The Martial Art we train in at the Eastbourne School is the comprehensive style of United Mirae Kuk Sool, which is a traditional Korean Martial Arts system. Within our classes, we look at many aspects of Martial Arts including: Kicking, Striking, Weapons, Moving Forms, Escape & Control Techniques, Body Conditioning, Flexibility and much more…
We run Martial Arts classes from age 3 up to adult, and for all levels of fitness, capability, and training needs.
Our Instructors
Franziska Lassman
2nd Degree Instructor and Eastbourne School Owner
KSN Franziska’s previous martial arts background is in Kung Fu and Tai Chi. She discovered Kuk Sool in 2014 and, as the general manager and safeguarding officer, is the first point of contact for our students and parents. Dedicated to all things Kuk Sool and running our pre-school programme, she also regularly competes in the European and UK Tournaments with success.
Emily Alanova
3rd Degree Instructor
PSBN Emily started learning Kuk Sool in 1994, took a bit of time out to raise her family, and returned in 2009. She received her 1st-degree Black Belt in 2013, her 2nd-degree Black Belt in 2019, and her 3rd-degree Black Belt in 2023. Emily is a vital part of the instructor team and assists in all classes.
Peter Lassman
2nd Degree Instructor and Hailsham School Owner
KSN Peter has trained in various martial arts before discovering Kuk Sool in 2013. He has dedicated himself to training and teaching the National Korean system with success in many tournaments and is now a three-time European Grand Champion in the 1st Degree Black Belt category. He is also a Level 3 Personal Trainer, Fitness Instructor, and runs the school’s additional fitness classes.

Young Leaders
Grace
DBN Grace, who is a whirlwind and shows no fear in sparring class, has started her journey to becoming a Black Belt. DBN Grace takes her martial arts training very seriously and studies pressure points and practices her forms and techniques at home. Grace is a great addition to the young leader programme with her enthusiasm and thirst for knowledge.
